Abstract

A 62-year-old man presented at our clinic with right hip pain and an inguinal mass. He had undergone total hip arthroplasty on the right side 9 years previously. On examination, aseptic loosening of the acetabular component and a synovial cyst communicating with right hip joint cavity was found in the right inguinal area. We report a synovial cyst complicated with aseptic loosening of the acetabular component following total hip arthroplasty.
